Specifications Writer
Position Overview

This Position Mainly Entails:

Create User Stories, and Specification documentation, and write business rules
(approximately 80% of time will be spent writing Software Requirements
Specifications); -
Define software requirements for complex medical software (agile and/or
waterfall); -
Assist with requirements gathering meetings with Subject Matter Expert;

Communicate systems requirements to developers from written specifications;
-
Assist with creating and executing test plans, test scripts and test cases;

Support Software Development Manager and Quality Assurance Manager (QA
Manager); -
Outstanding analytical and problem‐solving skills, an aptitude for learning new
technologies and business processes; -
Manage work time efficiently, prioritize multiple projects, and adapt to rapidly
changing requirements and deadlines in order to complete assignments in a
timely manner; -
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills;

This position is on‐site in Ann Arbor, Michigan and reports to INVIA’s Senior
Director of Program Management.
Skills and Experience
-
Minimum of five years of Specifications Writer, Software Specialist
experience, including; -
Three to five years of experience in writing Software Requirements
Specifications (SRS); -
Software development practices including requirements documentation
and software testing; -
Strong technical writing ability;
-
Organized;
-
Logical thinker; pursues a line of reasoning with appropriate questions
until resolution; -
Familiarity with FDA regulations for a medical software device;
-
Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall development practices and
associated skills including user story writing; -
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products;
-
Ability to handle dynamic workload;

Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Bio‐Engineering;

Graduate Degree preferred
