SOFTWARE ENGINEER (Entry Level)

Position Overview

 

  • Participation in daily Scrums and bi-weekly Sprints;

  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager and Development Team to ensure that requirements are appropriately defined;

  • Develop code with a streamlined architecture, which is easily maintained and compatible with supported environments;

  • Responsible for updating/developing the Software Architecture Diagram documents and Software

  • Design Documents (SDD) for each project;

  • Adhere to the development process;

  • Participate in backlog grooming;

  • Draft and execute unit test plans;

  • Remain up-to-date with applicable technology down to the code level;

  • Remain current on advances in pertinent technologies (such as .NET, graphics, C#) in order to bring creativity and new advances to the application;

  • Remain current on usability advances across industries in UI and navigation, to provide for a demanding user environment;

Qualifications Required

Education:

  • BA, BS or Masters’ degree in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field

 

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Microsoft C++/CLI and C#;

  • Object oriented and .NET experience;

  • Experience developing commercially released, packaged software, with planned versions and releases;

  • Experience developing user interfaces for shrink-wrap applications

Pluses (optional experience and skills):

 

  • Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) on .NET 4.x with Visual Studio;

  • DICOM experience;

  • Prior medical imaging or image processing;

  • Javascript 2+ years;

  • Windows SDK programming;

  • Network (WCF, TCP/IP, Winsock);

  • Familiarity with XML, JSON, and SQL (SQLite, Microsoft Access, or Microsoft SQL Server);

  • OpenGL or other 3D modeling, and imaging
