Position Overview


We are looking for a senior application architect with experience developing thin client and web-based applications to help lead the design and development of the next generation of our medical imaging device. We plan to upgrade our industry leading application by separating it into a thin client application communicating through APIs with a core processing engine. This architect will design an efficient lightweight application that renders results in a clean UI. The first version of the application will be Windows based followed by a web-based version using the same core processing engine.  The ideal applicant can design and lead implementation of these applications. They should have experience with Windows UI APIs and JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, jQuery or Vue. They should understand how to design, implement, optimize, and deploy secure world class applications.   


This Position Mainly Entails:


  • Solving challenging problems in a streamlined manner

  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure that requirements are appropriately defined and documented

  • Working collaboratively in a high-performance team

  • Updating / developing Software Architecture diagram and Software Design Documents (SDD) for each project, consistent with overall architecture

  • Developing code with a streamlined architecture, which is easily maintained and compatible with supported environments

  • Creating automated tests for your code

  • Participating in code reviews and backlog grooming

  • Drafting and executing test plans for your code

  • Remain current on advances in pertinent technologies (such as .NET, graphics, C++) -- to bring creativity and new advances to the application

  • Remain current on usability advances across industries in UI and navigation, to provide for a demanding user environment


Skills and Experience


  • Application design and coding

  • Solid knowledge of HTML/CSS

  • High level knowledge of JavaScript

  • Experience using web application frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, jQuery)

  • Microsoft C++/CLI and C#

  • Object oriented and .NET experience

  • Understanding of web security practices

  • Experience using and developing web service and APIs

  • Experience developing commercially released applications with planned versions and releases

Pluses (Optional):


  • Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)

  • DICOM experience

  • Prior medical imaging or image processing

  • Windows SDK programming

  • Network (WCF, TCP/IP, Winsock)

  • Familiarity with XML, JSON, and SQL (SQLite, Microsoft Access, or Microsoft SQL Server);

  • OpenGL or other 3D modeling, and imaging.

  • Independent worker, but not hesitant to seek assistance when required

BA, BS or Masters’ degree in Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
