Optimization of Temporal Sampling for Rubidium 82 PET Myocardial Blood Flow Quantification

Tuesday, October 17, 2017

 INVIA News

An original research article by Benjamin Lee, PhD, Principle Scientist for INVIA Medical Imaging Solutions has been published in the September/October issue of the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology. This article was co-authored by Drs. Moody, Ficaro, Corbett, Weinberg and Murthy of the University of Michigan. This paper discusses how optimizing the timing of the image acquisitions better measures the rate of tracer absorption by the heart. The study recommends 5-second frame durations for the first 2 minutes and 120-second frame durations thereafter. Intervals greater than 5 seconds during the first two minutes result in a 6-12% margin of error in the myocardial blood flow (flow) and CFR (reserve capacity) values. | Read More >
