INVIA – Medical Imaging Software for the Demanding Professional
Who We Are
Listening to the needs of users; Bringing together medical and technical expertise; Working to provide the world’s most efficient, accurate and informative user experience. This is INVIA’s way, as it strives to provide the most comprehensive, user-centered diagnostic software for medical professionals.
INVIA’s expertise and experience spans the clinical environment as well as software development and validation. We bring together medical expertise, established clinical validation, and intimate knowledge of the trends and drivers that affect medical professionals.
INVIA was founded in 2005 by Dr. Edward Ficaro, Ph.D. and Dr. James Corbett, M.D. Visit our Founders page for more information.
How We Do It
Software development by INVIA’s engineers is a highly collaborative effort. They work closely with end users, the University of Michigan as well as major medical device manufacturers & system providers. These collaborations include:
End Users obtaining feedback on existing features and ease of use; gauging tomorrow’s needs of these medical professionals’;
The University of Michigan seeing first-hand the needs of clinicians, obtaining validated data sets and to staying up-to-date on the latest technology;
Camera manufacturers and medical information system providers – to ensure that INVIA’s products seamlessly function in these advanced system environments, as well as to most efficiently extract patient data.
How You Get It
INVIA’s software engineers stringently design, develop and test these software solutions. Once released from INVIA’s rigorous Quality Assurance Process, the products are made available to users through a variety of selling channels:
Major medical device manufacturers, such as GE, Siemens, and Philips, bundle our software with their platforms
Medical Information System Providers, such as Heartlab and Hermes, bundle our software with their facilities-wide system and can now sell it on a stand alone basis;
Specialized Medical Software Distributors, such as MedImage, are also licensed to sell our software and bundle it with their diagnostic display software on a stand-alone system.
The Future
Looking to the future, INVIA is focused on enhancing the core visualization and processing capabilities of its cornerstone product 4DM-SPECT, developing tools for better workflow and integration, and expanding support for other scanning techniques, such as PET (Positron Emission Tomography).
Recognizing a trend toward, and the value of, solutions seamlessly integrated into the software/hardware of medical systems, INVIA is currently testing a “toolkit” which enables major medical device manufacturers to directly incorporate INVIA’s software capabilities in their own products.
INVIA sees an ever widening menu of options for noninvasive scanning, envisioning scanning modalities such as multi-detector CT, PET/CT, and MRI which are becoming increasingly important in cardiac diagnosis. The ability to combine scans from multiple imaging modalities, that when combined visualize blood flow, artery and venous structures, in addition to highly detailed images of heart structure and defects, will significantly enhance the physician’s ability to assess and understand their patients’ conditions and to make better/more accurate decisions focused on achieving the best possible patient outcomes.
The User-Centered Experience
"The strengths of 4DM-SPECT are its ease of use, flexibility, and many user configurable options."
